Art Adventures in Palm Springs

video
Welcome to Art Adventures in Palm Springs!

Now, Palm Springs is known for its Celebrities and the Fabulous Palm Springs Follies. Did you know that it also has wonderful opportunities for the Artist? From great architecture to great scenery to paint and wonderful museums and art clubs.

Look at those Dancing Trees – That's absolutely gorgeous – And it is right there at the Desert Art Center. The Desert Art Center is one of the many clubs for artists. They provide classes with top notch instructors and have a member operated gallery, in which hangs local art work.

On the day that I was there, I decided to hike up this amazing mountain. Now, in the picture, it shows hikers standing upright. Well, if you hadn't hiked in a while, and aren't in excellent shape, may I suggest bringing a medical team. This was one steep mountain. But it had great views for painting. I can't imaging playing tennis off of the side of a cliff, and I certainly wouldn't want to be playing on the bottom level if an earthquake should arise.

Now this mountain is directly behind the amazing Palm Springs Art Museum. This was the highlight of my day. Okay – not because it was free and they did have chocolate cake. But they also have fabulous artwork, both indoors and out. I love to sit and sketch the sculptures.

Right now they have a new Van Go on display and on Thursday Evenings – admission is free after 4. Also they have free foreign films starting at 6 pm.

Live, love and paint,

Terry

What a great video, after I used the link for the Follies and found that one of the people I have worked with is in the Follies, Very Cool Blog.
