What's New & Exciting!

Sharing Inspirational Ideas & Selling Your Artwork:

This week I've got inundated with alot of artistic e-mails, so I'd like to spend a few minutes sharing them with you.

The first is a link to a short, fun video of sheepherders using sheep being herded as their paintbrush. I don't know if you have ever heard of the outdoor artist Andy Goldsworthy? He is an artist, but instead of using paint and brushes, he uses twigs and snow and leaves and ice. Anyhow, I digress. My friend Carlene sent this. It is artwork using live sheep. It's great - Here is the link:

Enjoy it, I know you will.

Here is a copy of the Letter I received from Laurie Phillips with the Art Group of Moreno Valley:

"Hi Terry

It's me - Laurie Phillips. Thought I'd let you know what we are up to in Moreno Valley. What we are actually doing is trying to let our population here know that there are arts in our city. It's been that if you wanted to participate in any of the arts that you had to go elsewhere - and most of the time, the people just didn't go elsewhere. Some of the ones in our art group never got out of their own backyard. So we decided to bring it to them. At least for the next few months.

Our Group is very fortunate because we have a space at the Mall. So what we are doing is having shows (exhibits) every 5 or 6 weeks plus we are doing special events such as An Evening of Poetry and a drawing workshop. This month we are also going to have an all day affair and have music, a children's poetry session, working artists and a reception which is all open to the public. And I have attached our flyer. I know it's a bit late since take-in is Monday - but we are close you know. And if you want your art to be seen it definitely will be. We are averaging 500 visitors a month and we are on a short schedule of only 4 days. Our turnout of artists has been very good and I find take-in days are fun - lot's of work - but what a great time.

What is really interesting is that most of our visitors really look at all the art and if they have children with them, they talk with them about it. Many of them stop and talk with us. This has kept me quite busy but it is so very rewarding. I just wish I had a few more volunteers (doesn't everyone!).

So come try it - you'll like it.
